A stakeholder workshop featured the second day of the 2nd Annual Meeting

A multi-actor stakeholder workshop featured the second day of the NEM-EMERGE 2nd Annual Meeting. More than 50 Turkish stakeholders from various sectors of the tomato supply chain met the project partners working with tomatoes and discussed, from a bottom-up approach, different strategies to fight against root-knot nematodes.

This multi-disciplinary group met for the whole afternoon, where stakeholders were asked about the research and innovations they feel they would benefit from. They also had the chance to learn first-hand about the innovations developed in NEM-EMERGE to counteract the root-knot nematode problem, and they finally voted for the NEM-EMERGE innovations that they consider the most important.

Through discussion and co-creation, this session served as a tool to jointly figure out the future of tomato agriculture.
